Common questions
The widget isn’t updating
- Check that both of you have Peekli open at least once and are still linked (Settings shows your person’s name).
- Make sure you’re online. The widget fetches new things itself, and shows the last one while offline.
- Allow notifications for Peekli. They help iOS refresh the widget quickly.
- Remove the widget and add it again: touch and hold the Home Screen, tap +, search for Peekli.
The widget says it can’t open the message
Every post is encrypted with a key that only your two phones have. If the widget can’t open one, the key on this phone is missing or different, usually after a new phone or a reinstall without a backup. Unlink in Settings and send a fresh invite to link again.
My invite link doesn’t work
Invites expire after 7 days and work once. If the link says “incomplete”, part of it was cut off when it was copied. Ask your person to send it again with the invite screen’s Copy link or Share button. If you don’t have the app yet, install it first, then tap the link again or choose I Have an Invite and paste it.
How do I restore my subscription?
Open Peekli and tap Restore on the paywall, or in Settings. One subscription covers both of you, so if your person already subscribed, you’re unlocked automatically once you’re linked. To cancel or change your plan, open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
I got a new iPhone
If you restore from an encrypted iPhone backup, your link comes with you. If not, send a new invite and link again. It takes a moment.
How do I unlink from my person?
Open Settings in Peekli and choose Unlink. Both of you will see “not linked”, and the last things you each sent are deleted.
How do I delete my data?
In Peekli, open Settings and tap Delete My Data. That unlinks you, deletes what you sent, your invites and your Peekli identity on our server, and the app starts fresh. Deleting the app alone doesn’t remove your data from the server.
Can anyone read what we send?
No. Notes, drawings and photos are end-to-end encrypted. Our server only stores a sealed envelope and can’t open it.
